General Reentry Information
The Reentry Policy Council is a national project dedicated to providing assistance to state and local government reentry initiatives. The Reentry Policy Council is coordinated by the Council of State Governments Justice Center, a national nonprofit organization that serves policymakers at the local, state, and federal levels from all branches of government.
The Urban Institute is a nonpartisan think tank that conducts policy research, evaluates social programs, and educates the public on key issues. The Reentry Roundtable, sponsored by the Urban Institute, is an ongoing effort to examine the issues that offenders confront during the reintegration process.
The Office of Justice Program's reentry website is an information clearinghouse for reentry.
The Second Chance Act (SCA) is bipartisan legislation authorizing the creation of a grant program to enable state and local governments to develop and implement innovative offender reintegration programs.
The Sentencing Project is a national non-profit organization that works to reform criminal justice policies and promote alternatives to incarceration. Their research on felony disenfranchisement and collateral consequences examines the issues that offenders confront during the reintegration process.
Jointly sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice, Labor, Housing and Urban Development and, Health and Human Services; the Serious and Violent Offenders Reentry Initiative (SVORI) is a national initiative providing funding to 69 grantees for the creation of adult and juvenile community-based reentry programs.
