Tarrant County kicks off flu season
Health Director and City of Fort Worth Mayor get their flu shot
WHAT: Tarrant County Public Health, City of Fort Worth and Walgreens join forces to remind people to protect themselves by getting an annual flu shot. Tarrant County Public Health Director Lou Brewer along with City of Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price and Walgreens District Pharmacy Manager Emanuel George will speak about the importance of getting vaccinated.

WHERE: 1101 S. Main Street, Fort Worth
Flu is a contagious disease. It is caused by the influenza virus, which can be spread by coughing, sneezing, or nasal secretions.
People should get vaccinated as soon as vaccine is available.
Everyone 6 months of age and older should get a flu vaccination. Vaccination is especially important for people at higher risk of severe influenza and their close contacts, including health-care personnel and close contacts of children younger than 6 months.
